Mr Ganga Singh
School Principal, Hindi & Harmonium
- Mr Singh is a highly experienced professional with a rich teaching resume. He has been teaching for over 40 years, which includes 20 years in the mainstream schools in Australia.
- He assumed the role of Principal in Fiji and has been the Head of Department in Secondary Schools in Sydney.
- Mr Singh has been teaching Hindi and Harmonium at WSHS for the past 17 years (whilst being the School Principal for the past 10 years).
- Mr Singh is highly respected in the community for his superior teaching abilities and expertise in music (harmonium and vocal).
Mrs Vinita Kumari Nadan
School Vice Principal, Hindi
- Mrs Nadan holds a Bachelor degree in Biology and Chemistry, Diploma of Secondary Science, Teaching Science and Maths for over 25 years in mainstream schools.
- She held various roles including Student Advisory, Assistant Head of Science, Head of Science and IT in an International College.
- Migrated from Fiji in 2000 and has been teaching in Australian Schools since then.
- Mrs Nadan taught at WSHS previously and resumed teaching at WSHS from 2024.
Mrs Kalpana Sahoo
Hindi
- Mrs Sahoo is a highly credentialled and well-liked teacher. She is very popular with her students and has amazing teaching style.
- She has been teaching Hindi and Music for 28 years; with the last 8 years in Australia. Mrs Sahoo has been teaching Hindi (and at times, Harmonium and Bharatanatyam) at WSHS since 2015.
- Mrs Sahoo is a qualified Early Childhood Educator with a Diploma from H&H Accredited Training Australasia.
- She is also a qualified Music teacher and specialises in Harmonium, with a Bachelor in Music from the Nikhil Bharat Sangeet Samiti (Calcutta, India).
Mrs Shraddha Dass
Hindi

- Mrs Dass is a qualified teacher with more than 30 years’ experience in teaching Hindi at mainstream secondary schools in Fiji.
- She holds Bachelor in Science from Vikram University (India), Diploma in Vocal Music and Harmonium (India), Certificate of Teachers Training (Fiji) and Postgraduate Diploma in Hindi (Fiji). Mrs Dass completed her Masters degree in Hindi Literature from Uni Saweni Lautoka, Fiji, with the outstanding gold medal prize.
- Mrs Dass migrated to Australia in 2022.
- She started teaching Hindi at WSHS from 2023.
- Mrs Dass received Pandit Ami Chandra Vidyalankar Memorial award for Excellence in Master of Arts in Hindi Literature on 29 Nov 2024.
Dr. Nupur Jaiswal
Hindi
- Dr Nupur is a Doctorate in Hindi and has been working in the field of learning and development since 2008. Apart from teaching Hindi, she also has expertise in content development.
- She is also a published author with two books to her credit. Her works have been published in various magazines and newspapers and anthologies from India and many international publications.
- Dr Nupur is also associated with many literary forums including the editorial board of Kaavyaalaya (world’s first website of Hindi poetry), Ananya Vishwa ( an international Hindi magazine published by Indian consulate NewYork) and Aakashwani (national radio of India).
- Hindi language and literature being her first love, she also creates art.
Ms Subadra Chandra
Hindi
- Ms. Subadra Chandra is a qualified teacher with 33 years of teaching experience in Fiji, having taught Hindi and other subjects in government primary schools and the International School Suva using the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
- She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Hindi, Bachelor of Education, and Diploma in Educational Administration.
- She is passionate about Hindi language, culture, and arts.
- After migrating to Australia in 2020, she joined the Western Sydney Hindi School as a Hindi teacher in 2024.
Mrs Chitra Dip
Hindi
- Mrs Dip is a qualified teacher with extensive experience in teaching Hindi.
- She has been teaching Hindi at a number of prominent secondary schools in Fiji since 1997; and holds a couple of Diploma in Hindi – India (1999) and USP, Fiji (2003).
- Mrs Dip was also a valued member of the Labasa Cultural Centre (in Fiji), and held leadership positions at the local Hindi Teachers Association.
- She started teaching Hindi at WSHS from 2023.
Ms Dipshika Lal
Bollywood
- Ms Lal is a classically trained Bollywood, Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Hip Hop student at the Indian Dance School. She has also obtained classical training in Chennai with Padma Shri.
- She is currently undertaking a Bachelor Degree in Speech Pathology.
- Ms Lal began dancing when she was 5 years old and loves to experiment with Acro and Contemporary styles. She is an avid performer and has participated in numerous festivals and dance competitions in Australia and India.
- She was part of the winning team at the Indian Dance School – Bolly Aus 2019.
Ms Kala Nanthakopan
Bharatanatyam
- Ms Nanthakopan is a highly decorated Bharatanatyam teacher with more than 30 years experience; and has been teaching in Australia since 1998.
- She has been teaching at WSHS for 15 years.
- Ms Nanthakopan is qualified with Diploma in Bharatanatyam from the Swami Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies (Sri Lanka).
- She enjoys teaching and watching students elegantly grow from a beginner level to an advanced Bharatanatyam dancer. Kala is passionate in passing her knowledge to the next generation to ensure that such a beautiful part of this culture keeps its graceful course.
Ms Priya Dass
Vocal

Ms Dass is from a well-known classical musical family. She mastered her vocal art from Gandharva Sangeet Vidyalaya in Pune, India in early 2000’s. Her Guru is Srimati Simantini Thakkar.

Ms Dass is highly sought after vocalist and has performed in a number of famous events in Australia, Fiji, USA, Canada, New Zealand and India.

She has been requested by many members of our community to pass her knowledge and has been tutoring vocal lessons privately for last 10 years.

Ms Dass joined WSHS and started teaching vocal from 2024.

Ms Dass is Senior Environmental Scientist in her regular professional life; and hold Masters qualification in her filed of expertise.
Mr Jai Shukla
Tabla and Dholak

- Mr Shukla learnt tabla for 4 years from Guru Arnab Mukerjee.
- He has been playing tabla for over 20 years, and has performed in the US, Canada, NZ and Australia; including performing for Bollywood artists such as Anand Ji Kalyan Ji, Shri Vinod Agrawal and Shri Devakinandan Thakur.
- Mr Shukla is a proficient tabla player on bollywood songs, ghazals, bhajans and mata chowki.
- He is also an avid Dholak player, whose performed at prominent events and functions in Australia and overseas.
- Mr Shukla was the tabla teacher at WSHS for a few years until 2018.
